A serene Chennai apartment where coastal light meets warm, tactile materials. Inner Space delivered a calm, turnkey home shaped around how this family lives day to day.

Considered storage, soft layering, and a palette that stays easy on the eye – every corner reworked so the space feels effortless, uncluttered, and unmistakably theirs.

Appaswamy Navasuja is our first project in Chennai – a 3BHK family apartment designed and delivered turnkey. The brief asked for a home that felt warm and rooted in tradition, with serious storage that never looks like storage. Nearly every piece of joinery in the house is custom-built, from the patterned wardrobe shutters to the display units.

The home welcomes you with a tree-of-life metal screen in the foyer and a fluted-wood pooja niche that anchors the living areas. The living and dining sit in warm rust and terracotta tones against custom wall panelling, while the kitchen keeps things practical – crisp white cabinetry with dark stone counters. Traditional mandala and blossom artwork carries the theme through the home.

Each bedroom has its own character. The master is the standout: a navy upholstered headboard wall with a hand-finished blossom panel above it. A second bedroom takes the opposite direction – blush tones, fluted panelling, and soft sconce lighting – while a cushioned bay-window nook and a compact study in sage green make the quieter corners of the home just as considered as the showpiece rooms.
