Every room was designed around how we actually live here. Our younger son’s room was designed to his preference and has white brick walls, an urban edge, and a proper desk setup because he studies and games. The master bedroom has a writing desk tucked into a panelled corner with its own pendant light, sage green wardrobes, floral drawer fronts, and a rattan cane headboard. The kitchen has a floral tile backsplash I love completely. The dining chairs are all different colours. Moving through the home you pass a pixel art portrait of the four of us in the corridor that makes me happy every time, which is the only reason it’s there. What made this home feel like ours from day one is that we didn’t start from scratch. We brought furniture and lights from our other house in Bangalore and built the new home around them. The result is a home that feels accumulated rather than installed, and that quality is hard to get any other way.
